Interagency is one of the five programme strands within the overall Better Finglas Programme. Interagency has been really important to both the creation and ongoing development of Better Finglas as many local and national organisations are actively involved in the wider consortium and within the current oversight structures.
In order to evaluate this type of collaborative work, external researchers were commissioned to capture and evaluate the learning from the interagency work supported by Better Finglas. ‘Interagency’ was defined for the purposes of this study as at least two agencies or organisations working together in a planned and formal way.
Using questionnaires, interviews and observation, the two primary aims of the report were to answer the following questions:
1) How has the interagency approach affected work with children and families in Finglas?
2) What is the learning in relation to replicating the approach in other settings or areas?
