As part of our work with local preschools and primary schools to support children’s transition from preschool to primary school, Better Finglas has created the ‘Steps to School Photobook’. This is a picture book with photos of local schools to help children engage in conversations about going to primary school. The Home School Community Liaison Coordinators were involved in the project, taking photos of classrooms, schoolyards, corridors etc.
The photobooks will be available in local preschools and give children and early years practitioners a visual representation of the primary schools in the area. This photobook is part of a range of initiatives to support children’s transition to primary school including training workshops, transition forms and school welcome packs.
